To all crew,
The Breen has finally concluded, ending our longest mission since our pilot episode - "Handling the Fallout." The next mission was soft-opened a few days ago while we waited for posts from The Breen to finish up:
Following the Battle of Khourani, the USS Myogi sits in drydock at Algonquin Fleet Yards undergoing extensive repairs. With an estimated repair time of six to eight weeks, the Myogi will remain out of service until the Starfleet Corps of Engineers can restore her to a fully operational state.
During this time, the crew are assigned light duties, training, temporary assignments, or some well-earned shore leave at Algonquin Station until the Myogi is fit to return to service.
That's right - by popular demand, we'll be having a downtime mission. This will allow for us to take a step back and breathe. Maybe run some character development plots?
But remember: Just because this is a "downtime" mission, it doesn't mean you have a license to slack off. All posting and activity standards remain in effect as they always have, and if you do decide to do JPs with anyone, please don't keep them waiting.
While we're on the topic of posting and activity standards- starting today, I am making my expectations for tagging clearer than they have been in the past. To that degree, I have introduced a Tagging Expectations Sub-Policy as a part of our Posting Policy.

Before we move on to the conclusion, I want to take a moment and announce that the Maho Takahashi Ribbon of Excellence, Essential NPC, and mission-specific award will be taking a one-mission hiatus. Due to our mission's downtime nature, there will be no Maho Takahashi Ribbon of Excellence, Essential NPC, or mission-specific award handed out when Futou Fukutsu comes to an end. All three awards will return at the conclusion of the following mission, Tomorrow Never Comes.
Now, we have to address the one thing I'm looking forward to the least, and I've spent the whole newsletter dancing around it. But, I suppose it's time to face the music:
You've probably read through the crew awards above, and noticed some faces missing from the recipients lists. Some longtime staples who have won these awards again and again.
This is one the toughest announcements I've ever personally had to make in my five years of running this sim: Lieutenant Sinclair and Lieutenant Rori have both stepped down from the sim in order to focus on their own. We wish them the best of luck with their endeavors.
Commander Misono has also made the difficult decision to step aside as XO, and moving into this mission, we will be writing the character out of our story. Because of Commander Misono's abdication, Commander Johnson is henceforth being promoted to XO.
In addition, the Myogi's Command team is finally going to be restructured to resemble a traditional sim's Command team. Keisuke will be stepping down to look after Kyoko, and the position of Second Officer will be reworked to no longer be a standalone position. Commander Ebisuzawa will be taking up the revamped Second Officer position.
On our fifth anniversary year, our sim has received possibly its biggest setback, but I believe we have the wherewithal to withstand the storm. I shall begin recruiting again, and hopefully we'll be able to furnish replacements for what we've lost. We're in the eye of the storm, but like Alexander Hamilton, we'll write our way out.
