Mission:
Indivisible
Timeline: After 'The Battle of Braxus (Part 7)'
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
"Sirs; we've identified four non-Elachi lifesigns on board: Three Human, one Rheuysian." The Ops officer reported. As the officer was reporting, her display lit up: "Transporter room four has a lock on them!"
"Execute!" Violet ordered.
And now, the continuation:
[USS The Sullivans - Transporter room four, deck 6]
The order had just come down as the Chief operating the transporter powered it up and engaged the transport of the life signs he had a lock on. Security and Medical were just arriving to the transporter room as four outlines appeared on the transporter pad, and in a flash of light, Commander Chiyomi Anzai, Lieutenant Touma Kamijou, Ensign Miyoko Misaka, and the Rheuysian Fre'Da Stokh fully materialized.
Relieved that they hadn't accidentally pulled four Elachi on board, the security officer motioned for the medical personnel to move in.
"Get them to sickbay." She ordered, turning to the four rescued. "Welcome aboard The Sullivans."
"Where's Captain Takahashi?" was the first question out of Commander Anzai's mouth. "Is the Myogi safe?"
"They're both safe, but you can't go over there just yet." The transporter chief reported. "We're in the middle of an active combat zone."
Commander Anzai blinked. "Active combat zone? Are we still fighting over Rheuys?"
"That's a negative:" The security lead spoke up. "We're in the Braxus system: President Ameda has suspended all talks to recognize the Confederacy of Independent Planets as a sovereign state that had persisted under previous administrations. Only way we're going to beat them is to swiftly decapitate them."
[USS The Sullivans - Bridge]
"Anzai, Kamijou, Misaka, and Stokh are all accounted for:" The voice of the transporter chief reported to Violet.
"Ops, send a transmission to the Myogi and the Europa:" Violet ordered. "Tell them their people are safe: And tell the Europa to forward the message to Captain Misaka that her husband and daughter are safe."
"Aye, sir." The Ops officer responded.
[USS Myogi]
The battle was starting to wind down: The Romulans and Elachi, if not in retreat, were in disarray. The Braxus Government Facility's shields had been taken out by the fighters, and given how no hostile craft had come up from the surface, it was safe to assume that the Confederacy wasn't evacuating their government officials.
"There's only one way to get this to end:" Maho declared, tapping her combadge. "Takahashi to Takahashi, Tristana, and Johnston:" She contacted the remaining members of the Miyahara era crew. "Report to Transporter Room One in full riot gear for immediate beam down. I'll meet you there."
"Captain, where are you going?" Ichika asked as Maho got up and started making her way to the turbolift. "You're not seriously considering joining them on the surface, are you?"
"That's exactly where I'm going:" Maho responded. "I'm going to finish this: Personally."
All at once, the entire bridge was up in protest.
"Captain! You can't go down there!" Kurumi protested loudly.
“Captain, we don’t know what’s down there,” Jane said, turning backward to add her voice to the cacophony. “It could be far better equipped than anyone thinks.”
"Captain, with all due respect, you've got a child to worry about!" Ichika objected. "If you beam down there, you'll be putting it directly in harm's way!"
"Alright, that's enough!" Maho called over the objections to reinstall order. "Your objections will all be noted: However, the Confederates are only going to regroup if we let them. The way I see it, there's only one person who can bring about a full stop to this madness, and that person is me!"
Kurumi pulled her phaser out of its holster on her belt. She then took a few steps towards the turbolift doors and stood in front of them. "Captain. No." She said sternly gripping the phaser tightly. "As Captain your primary responsibility is to the ship, and as a mother to be, to your unborn child." Kurumi told her strictly.
"If you are that desperate, then you'll have to go through me." She paused. "You should note that I once put pride and duty over my own family and look where it got me... They died and it was my fault." She raised the phaser. "I will not allow you to make the same stupid mistake I did."
"Now. Sit that stubborn ass back down or I'll make you sit down. Court martial me should you wish, but I'm not against shooting my own Captain because they're acting like a fucking idiot and pretending to be some superhero that they're not." Kurumi warned. "Make your choice Maho. Continue to be stupid and face a slight humiliation, or push past me and lose your command abd potentially the lives of yourself and the baby you carry, the one treasure that I lost. What's it going to be?"
"Commander?" Maho asked, glancing over to Ichika.
"I'm sorry, Maho," Ichika sighed. "But I'm afraid that I can't side with you this time."
Maho sighed.
"Fine: Maho sighed, moving back towards the command pit and tapping her combadge: "Takahashi to Away Team: Change of plan. You'll be on your own: Good luck."
"That won't do either, Maho," Ichika shook her head. "Because this is our fight as well."
"I can't ask that of any of you:" Maho responded. "Keisuke, Tristana, and even Terry all served together under Miyahara. They were just as taken by his betrayal as I was. If anyone on this ship should bring him down, it should be one of them."
"We're all with you to the end, Captain," Jane told her. "Let's bring this fascist prick down together." She was practically vibrating with excitement at the prospect.
Maho pondered the action to take next: Clearly, her crew was raring to go, but they didn't want her taking part. If her place was on the Myogi, then theirs should be, too.
Then again, she had sent people like Sinclair, Ebisuzawa, and even Rori down on assignments before...
"Ops, tell Transporter Room Two to start warming up and prepare to beam further personnel down."
"Yes, sir:" The Ops Officer responded.
Maho looked at her crew's faces, still eager and awaiting orders.
"Go," Maho finally ordered. "But make sure your stations are covered before beaming down."
"I'll keep us safe up here," Kurumi stated her hands tapping at tactical.
[USS Myogi, Transporter Room One, Deck 6]
Keisuke Takahashi, Tristana, and Terry Johnston arrived to Transporter Room One to beam down to Braxus. The three of them had already gone over the plan while the Myogi was still at warp in transit to the Braxus system. However, it now seemed like the plan would be enacted one person short:
"Alright, people: This is it:" Keisuke debriefed. "We may only have one shot at ending this for good: Our job won't be easy, but I have full faith in this team: Using data compiled when we launched the fighters, Ops has determined the most likely location of Miyahara and has a lock on a potential landing site nearby. We secure the area, take Miyahara down, and get out."
At this point, Keisuke noticed that Terry wasn't armed with a phaser rifle like he and Tristana, but rather an axe.
"What are you holding there, Johnston?" Keisuke asked.
"Clearly you've never heard the idiom 'speak softly, and carry a sharp stick.'" Terry responded. "This thing will serve me better than any kind of phaser."
"Well, let's hope your right:" Keisuke sighed as the three stepped up onto the transporter pad.
Keisuke gave the transporter chief a nod.
"Energize:" He ordered. The three of them disappearing in a transporter beam shortly thereafter.
