Welcome, USS Chimera!

One quarter score years ago, I brought forth into the community of Pegasus Fleet the Starship Myogi, a sim with the goal of restoring the good name of a former NPC ship that had been dragged through the mud on another sim.

The Myogi, however, was not the only new sim starting up in Pegasus Fleet in 2021: Just a few months after us, the USS Chimera also started up. The Chimera was a different sim with a different premise than Myogi, but having made friends with her CO on a different sim in the fleet, I joined up in the interest of supporting a fellow new sim. I even mentioned the Chimera in passing in some of the earliest entries of our Christmas mission.

Unfortunately, that arrangement only lasted for a few months: As has been documented for our fourth and fifth anniversaries, accusations were leveled against me for promoting pedophilia. I refused to back down and compromise my morals, and as a result, Pegasus Fleet clamped down on our art style, which forced us to relocate to Theta Fleet, where we have been ever since. When the Myogi left, I withdrew my presence from Pegasus Fleet entirely, including on Chimera, and I haven't looked back.

What I failed to disclose back then was that the whole affair that led to the Myogi's exodus started over a fundamental disagreement when I was still on Chimera. I omitted this detail deliberately, as the Chimera was still in Pegasus Fleet at the time, and not wanting to cause more inter-fleet drama, I left it on the cutting room floor to protect Chimera and her awesome writers.

But, as you can probably tell by the previous paragraph, I am no longer under the constraints I was back in March. That's because I'm happy to report that the Chimera is our fleet mate once again! This marks only the second time that a fellow ex-Pegasus Fleet sim has joined us here in Theta Fleet, the first being the USS Poseidon back in 2023.

Captain Skyie and I started out as Commanders in the same year, but our paths have diverged for the past nearly 5 years. At last, they have converged again, and I wish Captain Skyie the best of luck as she and the crew of the USS Chimera begin their next chapter.
