Mission:
The Breen
Location: Khourani System
Timeline: After 'The Battle of Khourani (Part 2)'
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
Pippa's own craft did the same. Pulses from her phasers pummeled Iconian shields, disrupting them enough for a couple of quantum torpedoes to break through.
And now, the continuation:
Meanwhile, the Myogi and several of the capital ships, including the Alita and multiple Klingon cruisers, had engaged a different structure, identified as another substation.
Iconian weapons fire brushed their shields, causing surges that sparked across the bridge. "I have a fluctuation in impulse engine," Jane called out. "If we don't get it under control, we'll start losing efficiency right quick."
"Engineering, let's see about getting that fluctuation under control." Maho ordered. "Last thing we need is to become a sitting duck!"
"On it!" Ami stated in a focused staccato as she studied the readout and began a frantic dance of fingers on the console in front of her as she rearranged a schematic on the screen. It was almost as if she was playing an old game she remembered, where pipes were filling with water as she had to guide it towards the final end, but instead it was power through conduits as she had to evaluate what was getting too damaged to reliably contain the flow, then finally she found a pathway that would work, "Got it!" She glanced around the bridge, then sighed, "I'm going to go work with damage control, get some of the relays back up for redundancy." And before anyone could say a word, she'd dashed to the turbolift and was gone.
"Captain;" Chrirhc said. "My Klingon isn't exactly the best, but from what it sounds like on the Klingon frequencies, they're in trouble..."
"Any common words being thrown around?" Chisato inquired. "Maybe we can get a better idea of what exactly is going on."
"Lot of discussion about ramming something..." Chrirhc noted. "Makes me wonder if one of their cruisers is disabled... Which would check out with the discussion of today being a good day to die..."
"Captain. Of we can get close to the Klingon cruiser I can extend our shields around them. We can use our tractor beam to manuever them. It keeps them in the fight." Kurumi suggested.
"If we're going to get to them in time, we're gonna need full impulse." Maho deduced, clicking a button on her chair. "Rori, how's our impulse engines coming along?"
"Working on it!" Ami trilled musically, "You've got some of it back, but I need to get his one fixed." There was a grunting sound as if she was exerting her strength and an intake of breath, "You motherless whelp of a targ!" Came over the comm, then a banging sound and another grunt and a yelp, "Try it now."
“Got it!” Jane announced. “We have full impulse.”
"Do we have a fix on which Klingon vessel might be in trouble?" Maho asked.
"It looks to be..." Chrirhc muttered, cross referencing the viewscreen. "That one!"
Chrirhc pointed towards a Klingon cruiser that was in an odd orientation near two other Klingon cruisers that took it under tractor beam.
"We'd better hurry, though:" Chrirhc noted. "Looks like the Klingons are already executing their plan to sacrifice it on the next substation."
"Helm get us over to those Klingon ships, full impulse!" Maho ordered. "Ops, see if you can get us through to the towing ships and find out what's really happening."
“Full impulse, aye!” Jane responded. “Hold onto something!” She pushed the engines into the red. Lives were at stake. Ami’s repairs would hold. They had to.
Here is a shorter Bree reaction section designed to be added **at the end of your original pasted scene**, after Jane pushes the engines into the red.
Dr. Bree Scott steadied herself against the bridge console as Jane drove the Myogi to full impulse, the ship surging toward the endangered Klingon cruiser. She had heard the same reports as everyone else: the impulse fluctuation, Ami’s hurried repairs, Chrirhc’s warning that the Klingons might be preparing to ram the next substation, and Kurumi’s suggestion to extend shields and use the tractor beam if they could reach them in time.
Her first instinct was to look inward.
While the bridge focused on the cruiser ahead, Bree checked the internal status feed, watching casualty indicators and crew movement reports shift as the ship accelerated. She was not in charge of medical response, and she did not try to be. Instead, she sent a quiet text update to the counseling staff, careful not to add another voice to the command channel.
*Keep voice channels clear. Stay near casualty gathering points and corridor junctions. Focus on calming crew, keeping pathways open, and helping anyone too frightened or disoriented to move safely.*
A reply flashed back almost immediately.
*I have a crew member in a corridor near a damaged section. No obvious injury, but they are frozen and not responding to instructions to move. I can reach them, but I cannot get them to come with me.*
Bree’s fingers moved quickly.
*Step into their line of sight if safe. One instruction at a time: look at me, hand on the wall, one step toward my voice. Don’t explain the whole situation. Give them something simple to hold if you can, then move three steps at a time.*
The Myogi shuddered under the strain of full impulse. Bree kept one hand braced on the console and waited.
A moment later, the reply came.
*They’re moving.*
Only then did Bree allow herself a breath. Outside the ship, the Myogi was racing to keep the Klingons from turning sacrifice into strategy. Inside it, Bree kept watching the quieter battle: fear, injury, confusion, and the effort to keep the crew moving one step at a time.
"Captain, one of the towing cruisers is hailing us." Ops reported. "They... Don't seem to happy about it..."
"On screen:" Maho ordered.
The view of the battle on the main viewscreen was replaced by a Klingon bridge, covered in debris with venting gasses from ruptured lines creating a sort of artificial fog on the bridge. However, clear in frame was the cruiser's infuriated captain:
"nuq'neH, Starfleet PetaQ? (What do you want, Starfleet Scum?)" The Klingon officer asked. "The Worf is too heavily damaged to continue the fight, and the General has decreed it's time to send the warriors on board to Sto-vo-kor!"
Before Maho could respond, Kurumi did it for her. "You still have weapons! Just because you can't manuever doesn't mean you should run away from this fight! Are you a Klingon who will fight until the last man? Or are you a coward?!" She demanded.
The Klingon captain narrowed his eyes.
"Tell me, child:" He snarled. "How keeping the Worf around is better than the guaranteed destruction of one of the substations that would come with its sacrifice?"
"Fine! Sacrifice yourself. I'll let the whole Klingon Empire know how you could still fight and decided to surrender like cowards. Have a fun time in Grethor!" Kurumi snapped back. She slammed her hand on the console cutting off the channel.
"Sorry Captain. Give them a minute, they'll call back..."
"Oh, they're calling back alright..." Ops added. "But... It's General Vro'lakH..."
Maho swallowed hard.
"On screen." Maho ordered.
The image of General Vro'lakH appeared on screen.
"Captain Takahashi:" He said. "What is this meaning of this insubordination? You dare to question my orders??"
"Moreover to come up with a solution that doesn't result in a pointless sacrifice of the Worf." Maho replied.
"Pointless..." Vro'lakH scoffed, mocking the word Maho had chosen. "If you do not have what it takes to sacrifice men in battle, perhaps you should retire to your bed..."
This time, the connection was severed on Vro'lakH's end, leading Maho to sigh.
"Alright, break off from the Klingon formation." She ordered. "What's our next target?"
“Breaking off,” Jane acknowledged. Deep down she regretted the loss. Death in war was inevitable but this seemed unnecessary. But there wasn’t anything she could do about it. All she could do was keep the ship moving. So she kept the ship in motion, dodging enemy fire as best as possible, awaiting the next set of instructions.
"The Klingons are going to drag the disabled IKS Worf towards the nearest substation:" Chrirhc explained, switching the main viewscreen to a tactical view. "So, I'd suggest we strike the one after that."
"Make it so, Miss Sinclair:" Maho ordered. "Ops, get the Alita or the Oorai on the line; tell them our next move."
“Course set at full impulse,” Jane reported, guiding the ship deftly toward their next target.
Suddenly, several Herald ships appeared right in front of the Myogi. Within seconds, the whole ship shook under the sudden onslaught. On the bridge, several consoles erupted in a shower of sparks as debris rained down from the ceiling.
"DAMAGE REPORT!" Maho yelled.
Ami had made it back to the bridge, though one hand was cradled to her chest as if it were in pain, still she focused on the now and the present, "We've got a hull breach in a cargo bay, no casualties. Structural integrity on deck six is at sixty percent and our left nacelle has taken serious damage, damage control teams responding, warp capability is still up."
"Any advantage we might've had taking those Quases out earlier just went straight out the airlock!" Ichika surmised as the Myogi was rocked by another salvo. "Captain, I would strongly advise that we forgo the substations and focus all our efforts on the main foundry!"
"Aren't those substations protecting the-!" Maho began.
The ship shook once again.
