Timeline: After 'Never Turn Your Back: Alita (Part 1)'
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
"Switchblade, your orders are the same that I gave Mad Cow;" Misaki said firmly. "See if you can locate a Herald ship in poor condition. And to make it worth your while, if you can find one before Mad Cow, I'll name you Commander Air Group."
And now, the continuation.
"Roger that, Captain," Switchblade nodded in the affirmative. "Blue Flight's going hunting!"
"Not to dash poor Switchblade's ambitions, but I think I may have found a suitable target: Got a Baltim that looks worse for wear. I'll give 'em this much, looks like the Breen energy dampening weapons have done their job." Mad Cow interjected. "Relaying the coordinates to you now."
The viewscreen switched to a tactical view, with the coordinates Mad Cow had transmitted blinking.
"You son of a bitch!" Switchblade teased. "Stealing my thunder before I even have the chance to play?"
"You got skin in the game, you stay in the game." Mad Cow responded.
"I didn't even get the chance to join the game!" Switchblade retorted.
"Enough:" Misaki cut off the discussion before it could go further. "Ops, radio the Myogi - tell them we've found what might be their best shot at pulling this plan off:" Misaki ordered.
"Hailing the Myogi, Ma'am," Ops announced.
"You've got a viable candidate, Alita?" Maho asked once the connection was established.
"You bet." Misaki replied. "We've got a Baltim that's just the right amount of damaged. I'd suggest mobilizing away teams as soon as you're able. Relaying the target's position now:"
"I'll forward the information to our transporter rooms so they know here to send the away team:" Maho replied. "Myogi out."
Once the connection ended, Misaki pressed a button on her armrest.
"TIC, brief Green Flight on their new orders as well as Red and Blue Flights:" She ordered. "Our new mission is to lure that Baltim's allies away from it."
The Chief of Ops nodded once more in the affirmative and proceeded to call up the TIC.
=A=Bridge to TIC; Green Flight has the go-ahead for launch; instruct your fighters that they are to run interference while Red and Blue Flights work to disable the target.=A=
=A=Affirmative, Bridge,=A= came the reply. =A=Relaying instructions to Green Flight.=A=
[Space]
"Stay close, Snap: You’re all over the place!" Mad Cow instructed.
"I'm trying, but I'm taking heavy Herald fire!" Snap replied. "I can't shake 'em!"
"Snap!" Mad Cow yelled as the transmission with Snap broke up.
Looking towards Snap's last known location, Mad Cow only saw a fireball where his fighter had once been.
"Damnit." Mad Cow cursed under her breath. 'We've lost Snap!"
[Bridge]
"We're already losing pilots," the Chief of Ops reported. "Myogi is diverting fighters to assist, but I'm not sure how much time it's gonna buy us."
"TIC, tell Green Flight to launch Immediately, and get Yellow Flight lined up to follow!" Misaki ordered.
"Aye, Ma'am," the Chief of ops nodded. =A=Bridge to TIC, Green Flight is cleared for launch; instruct Yellow Flight to scramble for successive deployment.=A=
=A=Roger that, Bridge; Relaying instructions to Green and Yellow Flights for 1-2 rapid deployment estimated at 3 minutes and counting...=A=
The bridge crew watched a third, substantially larger procession of fighters streamed from the shuttlebay, snaking around like some celestial serpent before immediately breaking off and joining the fight.
"Launch successful, Captain," Ops reported. "All units have engaged the Heralds."
Even with all fighters deployed, the pilots' comms chatter descended into chaos. Though Misaki was a highly seasoned officer, she hadn't found herself in a situation so hopeless before; and for once in her life, the fear of losing everything: Losing the Alita, losing her commission... Began to get to her. She didn't even notice Tsuneo return to the bridge, reporting that Engineering was in good shape.
"Captain; what's our next move?" Tsuneo asked beside her.
"Captain, what now?" Someone else on the bridge shouted.
Misaki clicked a button on her armrest, opening a ship wide comms channel- which was also broadcast to the pilots:
"My friends; I'm sorry..." Misaki began. "I thought we had a shot... But there's just too many of them!"
"...But there are more of us, Shokuho:" A voice responded. "There are more of us!"
"Who said that?" Misaki asked.
"Captain, you're not gonna believe this!" Ops reported with a look of bewilderment. "A large fleet is converging on our position... I'm reading Federation, Klingon, and even Romulan ships!"
The blackness of space in front of them was suddenly illuminated by white flashes as several starships began to drop out of warp. It was an impressive sight as Federation, Klingon and Romulan ships all started to arrive. Soon, a task force of around fifteen ships was now holding formation.
The Klingon fleet held on the portside of the fleet. Several Vor'cha class vessels. Their nacelles glowed orange and red, making their green hulls look more intimidating than usual. On the starboard side, the Romulans. A few D'Deridex Class ships.
Directly in the middle, was the Federation ships. The Federation had brought backup. The viewscreen of the Alita showed the Myogi's Task Force Jomo fleetmates the USS Kaga and USS Haruna. Amongst the Federation fleet was a mixture of Sabre, Defiant, Steamrunner and Norway Classes. Meanwhile, a singular Gagarin Class Sat at the very centre forward.
It's nacelles were sharp and sleek. The orange buzzard collectors glowed menacingly as it held at the very centre of the fleet.
"Captain, We're being hailed," Ops reported. The request is for it to be transmitted to all ships on our side."
"Then, by all means." Misaki nodded.
The screen flicked on, and upon it stood two women. The first was easily recognizable as Captain Koko Kaga, commanding officer of the USS Kaga; the other sported a noticeably different uniform to her contemporaries, in that instead of the white shoulders associated with Command officers, hers were grey and she wore a singular boxed pip on her collar. Gold piping was on her uniform. Her bright emerald eyes looked directly at Captain Misaki.
"Captain Misaki." Koko bowed to the senior captain. "You look like you could use a hand."
The other woman cleared her throat. "Captain. Commodore Maka Albarn of the Starship Shinigami. We're here to assist."
She wasted no time. "Have the Alita fall into line alongside the Kaga and the Haruna." she ordered simply. "Oorai, Myogi. Join the Destroyer Wings, on the starboard side. If you've still got some fight in you, we need the extra phasers." For a brief moment she seemed to look away. "This is to the Klingon Commanders. Join the your fellow warriors on the port of the fleet. As for the Breen Commanders, you'll be taking the same side as the Romulan ships."
She paused for a moment. "Captain Shokuho. I'm delegating your Commander Air Group as Fleet Air Group Commander now." she rose to her feet and took a few steps towards the viewscreen. "Now. How about we show those Heralds that we're here to mean business, and we will show them we are stronger?"
"Yes, ma'am." Misaki remarked. "Alita out."
