Mission:
The Next Myogi
Location: Sector 811
Timeline: After 'Up the Creek (Part 2)'
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
"Well, this just went from bad to worse..." Maho grumbled as the Myogi shuddered, the bridge lights automatically switching over from yellow to red alert. "Red alert! All hands, battle stations! Helm, evasive maneuvers!"
“Yes, ma’am!” Jane responded. “Evasive pattern Sinclair-three.” The ship accelerated to two-thirds impulse and the chief flight control officer banked it this way and that in the third of several original evasive patterns she had charted.
Ichika glanced over at Kael. "Strap yourself in, Mr. Ryo, it looks like this is going to get bumpy..."
He nodded in pain as he pushed himself up from behind the captains chair, which is what he used to to break his fall earlier. ''New ghosts complain and old ghosts weep" He quoted. "I'll be on the sickbay" His own station during a red alert.
Kurumi had relieved Tactical and had managed to get the Myogi's shields raised.
And now, the continuation!
As William was making his way to the bridge he felt the ship shudder and the Red Alert Klaxon go off, bathing everything in red light. Well so much for reporting the crew status. Hope these kids are ready. he thought as he slapped his commbadge and opened a communication wide announcement to all his NCO's.
=^=This is Master Chief William Pitsenbarger to all NCO's, as you are most likely aware we are under Red Alert and most likely attack. Rouse and ensure all your crewmen are reporting to their assigned battle stations. I want the medical NCO's and crewmembers assigned to triage to set up Triage stations on the following decks: Officers' Mess on deck 3, anyone gives you a hassle for doing so tell them to come see me; Crew Mess on deck 6, Forward Lounge on deck 7, I especially want the Marine Corps medics and medical personnel to use this for the Marines; finally use the Aft Lounge on deck 10 for Engineering personnel that are injured. Triage the patients send all RED to Sickbay, if possible use transporters for inter-ship transport. You all know the drill. I'll report to the bridge, then to deck 3 if I can. I want a status report when all enlisted are accounted for and at their respective battle stations. Pitsenbarger out.=^= With that he made his way to the bridge and the C.O.B. station.
Master Chief Petty Officer William Pitsenbarger stepped onto the bridge and quietly made his way to the C.O.B. station. The bridge was typical for Red Alert status, controlled tension and chaos. He brought the C.O.B. station controls and began to review the verious status reports the senior NCO's were sending in regards to their respective departments.
"Status of our shields, Miss Ebisuzawa!" Maho called out as William arrived on the bridge, the Myogi shuddering as it took another hit from the attacking Heralds.
"Shields at Eighty Six Per cent," Kurumi reported.
Pitsenbarger frowned as he began receiving the reports from the NCO's, it appeared the marine contingent had several wounded and possible dead. The casualty collection point on deck 7 had to be relocated to the marines small dispensary and the corridor around it.
William asked for confirmation on why, and cursed when the answer came back. Sucking in a breath William stated calmly, out loud "Captain there has been a considerable hull breach on deck 7, Forward Lounge. Multiple casualties amongst both medical personnel and the marine contingent; to include several deceased and missing."
"Well Captain. Do you want me to return fire or not? Or are we going to sit here and simply take a beating?!" Kurumi asked sharply as the Myogi shook. "I need to know what you want me to do!"
"For fuck's sake, Commander, DO IT!" Ichika shouted.
"Returning fire." Kurumi replied. "Phasers and Torpedoes." She said as her fingers danced across the tactical console. "Firing, all weapons." The Myogi let out an impressive arsenal at the attacking ship of orange beams or focused energy followed by torpedoes bursting from both forward and rear launchers.
"Watch those shields, Commander:" Chrirhc advised. "The Akagi reports that their shields are being drained-!"
Chrirhc grasped his console as the Myogi once again shook from another blast. However, he might have been better off getting flung across the bridge, for the console he was holding onto proceeded to explode into a shower of sparks, scorching Chrirhc's scaly skin. Decorative panels fell from the overhead and bits of wiring and other petrified debris that resembled rocks fell onto the bridge and everyone on it. Once the inertial dampeners had caught up, Chrirhc looked over at the flickering Master Systems display behind the cracked panel housing it.
"Direct hit to-!" Chrirhc trailed off and his eyes widened. "Oh my god..."
"REPORT!" Ichika demanded, a trickle of blood running down her forehead where a piece of debris had struck her. "WHERE ARE WE HIT?!?!"
Without responding to Ichika, Chrirhc slowly turned to Kurumi, the look of horror on his burned face evident that what he was about to say needed to be taken seriously:
"Commander, you might want to get down to deck 2:" He advised. "If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like your quarters might have gotten caught in the blast."
"Why would I need to go there right now?" Kurumi asked as she continued her assault on the attacking ship. "It's not like Yaeka lives in there all the time. I know exactly where she is right now." Kurumi stated briefly looking over towards the Captain. "She's on deck six, section twelve, crew mess." Kurumi stated. "She goes there a lot during the day. It's quiet and safe for her. It's also a designated safety shelter zone..."
William could feel the sting of the cut to his head, and he felt the warm stickiness of blood as it slowly ran down the back of his neck. "Captain, I can go and check Deck two then make my way to Deck six. We have a causality collection point based out of the crew mess. I am first and foremost a combat IDMT medic, and my skills are suited to it."
"Then see to it, Master Chief." Maho nodded. "Watch the containment forcefields, though:"
William quickly stood up, a wave of nausea and vertigo hit him. He quickly suppressed the sensations, given all his years of service in high stress/combat. He then hit a tab on his console =^=Pitsenbarger to First Sergeant Kasso. Please report to the bridge and bring two of your medics; also bring your usual party favors to help ensure bridge safety.=^= He didn’t wait for a response, knowing his long time friend would comply. He made his way of the bridge, choosing to use the Jeffery Tubes access.
The ship rocked with another hit and despite the protests of the inertial damping system, they felt a downward shift in their velocity. “Captain, I’m losing efficiency in the impulse drive,” Jane called. “It’ll be harder to dodge their fire if we’re hobbled.”
"We need to start planning an exit strategy:" Maho declared. "Get me the Akagi! We need to regroup, and-!"
"Captain, we're already being hailed by the Akagi:" Chrirhc responded. "They say they're preparing to abandon ship!"
Maho blinked.
"Do we have audio and visual signal?" She asked.
"Yes, sir, but barely." Chrirhc responded. "Attempting to compensate..."
"On screen:" Maho ordered.
The view on the viewscreen shifted to a static-ridden image of the Akagi's ruined bridge. Several bridge officers lay where they fell, and through the static, the bridge was bathed in red emergency lighting. Captain Hartmann was on the tactical station doing everything she could to keep the Akagi's weapons blazing. Due to her position, she was barely discernable through the static:
"...Crew's putting off in the pods..." Hartmann's distorted voice reported to her fleetmate. "Grab... And get out of here! ...xt. It's been an honor... Rve alo..si-!"
Before Hartmann could finish, the signal was lost, and only seconds later, a brilliant fireball consumed what was left of the Akagi as the Luna class ship detonated in a warp core breach.
"Brace!" Ichika exclaimed as she realized that blast wave was heading right for them. "BRACE-!"
Aa the Myogi was scooped up by the shockwave, Chrirhc lost his footing and the forces acting upon him sent him into the tactical console, where he proceeded to involuntarily somersault over Maho and Ichika's heads as they held onto their chairs. More consoles threw up sparks as Chrirhc landed on his back in front of the command pit.
"Damage report:" Maho ordered. A full second of silence passed without a response. "DAMAGE REPORT!" She yelled louder to snap the bridge crew out of any dazes they might be in.
To be continued...
