Mission: The Next Myogi
Captain's log, Supplemental:
I suppose I should open this by thanking the Heralds for sending me into premature labor. My daughter Kyoko was born five weeks earlier than planned thanks to the surprise ambush that took the lives of all but three on the Akagi. But, she keeps growing and getting stronger every day. No doubt she's going to be a fighter, just like her parents.
Speaking of the Akagi; Captain Hartmann and all senior staff perished aboard our fleet mate. Only Lieutenant Mei Yoneme, Lieutenant Junior Grade Serena Wilkins, and Ensign Monica Everett were the only confirmed survivors of the Starship Akagi, and that was only thanks to the trio's creativity to make their pod appear as if it had malfunctioned.
None of them knew anything about the Akagi carrying 55 kilograms of Neutronium, or any amount of the material, for that matter. So, that avenue appears to be a dead end. Since no senior officer survived the Akagi's destruction, what they were doing carrying that much Neutronium on board might remain a mystery. Though, I am left to wonder: 55 kilograms is an oddly specific amount, and though it's been a while since I've looked over Captain Hartmann's personnel file, if memory serves me correctly, her weight was around 55 kg. I'm sure it's just a crazy coincidence, but the thought continues to nag at me.
The Neutronium is... Safe. I wish I had more information on its whereabouts, but I couldn't get a straight answer out of the guys who came to pick it up. Just that it was "in safe hands." I suspect I might have just accidentally handed a lump of Neutronium over to Section 31...
The Myogi has made it back to Starbase 234 without further incident, and repairs are well underway. I'm not sure how much of what we saw I can talk about before Temporal Investigations comes in, but it seems Ryosuke sent us back with far more than just a 3 dimensional scan of my belly prior to birth; as it was discovered that six million terraquads of data on the Iconians had been wirelessly uploaded into our computer core, with an additional two point five million terraquads stored on an isolinear chip in Lieutenant Sinclair's possession, totaling to a database over eight million terraquads in size. The data, the storage device that Ryosuke gave us, and the isolinear chip have all been turned over to Starfleet Command. I am unsure how most of the information got into our computers, my only guess is that the storage device Ryosuke handed off to us began wirelessly backing up the data it held to our computer core from the first terminal it passed. Which is why I sent it off in a subspace signal blocking container, so that way the information wouldn't back up on any additional computer cores on its way back. The wonders of future technology, I suppose.
Speaking of the future... I'll try and keep my thoughts on it brief to keep Temporal Investigations happy... While it pleases me to know that this will be far from the last vessel to carry the name of Mount Myogi, the future that we were shown was a grim one. I've never been one to believe in temporal linchpins, but I suspect that the reason that timeline was the way it was is because we may have a vital role to play in the present, and our absence caused a major disaster for the galaxy.
On our way back to Starbase 234, we received word that war had been declared. Given that we know what could be, and armed with the tools to try and prevent it, maybe, just maybe, we can minimize the damage...
