Mission:
Futou Fukutsu
Location: Risa
With her new ship in dock Krysia had decided to visit a place she’d been hearing a lot about. According to what she’d heard Risa was the place to go for a fun time, so it seemed as good a place as any to stop off for a break.
Watching her date walk away from her door, Jessica made her way to the breakfast area, after finding out, that she was now first officer of the myogi, after only a short stint as Third officer, and an extra round with her date, she worked up an appetite, for a hearty meal. Walking to the buffet style she grabbed a bite to eat starting with a large mound of bacon, sausages and eggs.
Krysia’s first thought had been food, she’d never tried any of the foods on offer here so it was a case of trial and error. Picking up a plate she plated a little of the eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, toast and some butter as she observed others doing the same. She also poured herself a fruit drink before turning to look where to sit.
"Your new aren't you. Trying to figure out whats popular with the others and going for that." Jessica replied as she took a bite of the bacon.
“You’re very observant” Krys nodded. “This is my first time outside of my planetary system, I’ve never been here, or anywhere else for that matter.” She motioned to seat at the table. “May I join you?”
"Please do." Jessica replied with a smile. "So... what brings you to Risa?"
Krys took a seat placing her tray down on the table as she did so. “I’m on my way to my ship actually, the USS Myogi, but she’s currently in for repairs so here I am.”
"Are you part if an exchange program... this being your first time outside your planetary system?" Jessica asked. "How did you go through the academy?" Having heard of such instances. Taking a drink of milk, she placed the glass down.
“The leaders of my home planet are considering stretching its influence somewhat, so I’m here more or less as an Ambassador for my people, and an exchange officer. The Academy on Drax is comparable to your Academy so my training is sufficient.” Krysia offered a smile. “It’s just going to take some getting used to not being around telepaths anymore.”
"I’m sure you will be just fine." Jessica replied as she looked around. "I am sure you will be surprised, there are a lot of telepaths in starfleet. May not be alone as you think."
“That’s true, I believe Betazoids are the closest comparison to my people.” Krysia smiled before pausing to eat some of her breakfast. “Mmm…” she nodded her head as she chewed before swallowing. “Now that is delicious!”
"Some say its the most important part of the day so it should start off right." Jessica responded taking a bite of her own. "So what have you heard about Risa."
“Just that it’s the place to be for a good time.” Krys added with a smile before eating more of her food. “Oh I’m Krysia by the way, Krysia Kaleri.”
"Jessica Johnson." She replied "When did you arrive, I suspect this morning. Otherwise you wouldn't hesitate when choosing the food."
Krysia nodded. “I wanted to try and fit in as best as I could, downside of not being off my homeworld besides service aboard a couple of our own ships, is that I know practically nothing of anywhere else. I’ve been busy studying on my way here.”
"Well now, that would be something to celebrate... and Risa, is probably the best place you can. Quite literally get anything... or anyone for that matter."
“I just came here for something to do until the Myogi is ready to head out again.” Krys added once she’d finished chewing her food. “I don’t even have a room sorted yet, I wasn’t sure how long I’d need it for.”
"Well i got a three bedroom suite. Save your credits. Take one of my other rooms." Jessica offered
“Are you sure?” Krysia was surprised by the offer. “You don’t even know me!”
"I know I got a suite too big."
“Well I guess, if you’re sure.” Krysia nodded. “I’d like that, thank you. I’m willing to put something towards the cost if you’d like?”
"It cost me nothing... I know the owner of this establishment. We had a 'thing' for a while... remained on good terms... and said if I ever was on Risa it was on them."
“Well in that case you have a bargain” Krys grinned then finished off her breakfast, washing it down with a drink. “There’s something to be said for knowing people.”
"I couldn't agree more." Jessica replied having finished her breakfast a few minutes before. A few seconds later, a cleaner came and picked up the dirty dishes and walked off. Jessica walked over, and handed the person a few credits before walking over to the table. "I can show you the room, so you can get situated, or we can wait and I can show you around."
“I’d like to see the sights first, see what everyone loves so much about this place.” Krys smiled warmly before finishing off her drink. “Then you can show me our quarters.”
"You may be in for a shock... unsure how your culture is... but there is a reason why this place is no place for kids or adolescents. Anything goes, with anyone, in most places. Except the places to eat and the washrooms for obvious reasons."
“Honestly, that doesn’t surprise me given the emotions I’m sensing here. We don’t have a pleasure planet, my people are just starting to come out of self chosen exile, you could go as far as to say they have been quite xenophobic up until recently.”
"Ah well... you up for the task. As a former chief medical officer, specializing in xenobiology i would recommend caution."
“I can shut myself off to a point, and I’m not looking for that kind of fun right now” Krys added offering a smile. “If I have to hide away in quarters then that’s what I’ll do.”
"I will warn you when I bring anyone over. Although ive had one hell of a night with my last date... so I should clean up the suite... but they are already doing that."
Krysia grinned. “I take it you like to enjoy yourself a lot when you’re off duty then? Hell why not.”
"Well I got no kids, no wife, no husband so why not." Jessica replied.
“You’re the a-typical definition of a free spirit” Krysia smiled. “You enjoy life to the max while you can. What ship are you currently assigned to?”
"At the moment, i'm trying not to worry about the ship. Though I just got promoted from third officer to first." Jessica replied. "Leave all my problems at the door. Bad enough i had to talk to a commodore this morning."
“Okay so work talk is off the menu, forget I asked.” Krys grinned. “Let’s just enjoy this place while we’ve both got the chance.”
"That is the best thing ive heard all day," Jessica agreed "Ill show you the least shocking areas before we get to the... more... explicit areas of the establishment."
“Great!” Krysia grinned. She was excited to learn as much as she could about all the cultures she didn’t know right now. If she was to prove a good Counsellor she needed to know as much as she could.
"Very well." Jessica replied walking up to a server that had a tray of glasses. Taking two, she passed one to the newcomer. "When in Risa, always have a glass in hand. That way they will stop hounding you to take more."
“Okay, that I can do” Krys nodded as she held onto the glass giving it a little sip. “Wow! That’s strong, but saying that it leaves a pleasant after taste.”
"It’s made from a fruit like plant, which gives it that sweet taste." Taking a drink of her own. "It may not seem like it, but it packs a punch."
Krysia sipped a little more before looking around. “So where are we heading first?”
"Your choice. I’m kinda a regular."
“The beach! I love the beach!” Krys grinned. Not being used to beverages containing alcohol the small amount she’d had was already loosening up her inhibitions a little. “Maybe I should change? I feel overdressed.”
"Well most beaches here, are clothing optional." Jessica replied. "So I would think you would be overdressed."
Krysia grinned looking around she saw a nearby swimwear store. “Would you hold this please? I’ll be right back.” Handing over the glass she headed into the shop returning a few minutes later wearing a figure flattering bikini. “That is so much better!”
"A little shy are we." Jessica replied as she gestured to her to follow, stripping as she did so. "Once you get used to being around here, it starts not to bother you."
“I err…don’t think I’d be comfortable walking around naked.” Krysia added taking back her glass and giving it another sip. “I like this drink.”
"The beach is just down this trail." Jessica replied, as they strolled there were spots for people to go off and 'explore' on their own. It didn't refer to the establishment or the forest, it meant other people. There were many people there that chose to keep clothing on. Others most actually, chose the optional version.
Following on down the trail Krysia smiled as she saw the beach and the sea beyond. “Is it true that the climate and weather here are controlled? Is there a winter season at all?”
"Risa is a tropical planet, which means, they are usually hot, and humid with lots of rain. The planet is weather controlled. However there are groups that wish for it to return to how the weather is supposed to be."
“I can imagine, but that would hamper tourism somewhat” Krys added as she took in the sights. “It is lovely here, just a bit crowded really.”
"It is mainly the natives... whose ancestors arrived here centuries ago." Looking at the water. "So sunbathe or swim?"
“I think sunbathe is good for me for now.” Krysia smiled. “Feel free to go enjoy yourself, I don’t want to cramp your style.”
“I'll join you, perhaps after I’ll take a dip."
Krysia nodded and smiled giving her drink another sip. ‘I could get used to this stuff. It’s good.”
"Don't get too used to it, it also gets people to drop their inhibitions."
“Yeah, I think that’s pretty much working” Krys grinned. “Plus it’s my first time drinking alcohol. I should probably not have anymore.”
"Lets take this away from you then." Jessica replied leaning over, and taking the glass away from her. "Lets just ease up on this then. And just relax."
